Privacy Policy

Effective date: 22 October 2026 · Last updated: 22 October 2026

The short version. Your PDF files never leave your device — there is no server that could receive them. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The only data that ever reaches us is your licence key, and an email address that the payment provider gives us so we can deliver that key.

1. Your documents

PDFSift converts, merges, splits and rewrites PDF files inside your browser. The application code, including the PDF library it uses, is served to your browser and runs there. Your files are never uploaded, transmitted, copied to a server, or stored by us. There is no file-processing backend to store them in.

The consequences are practical: we cannot see your documents, cannot recover them, and cannot hand them to anyone. Closing the tab clears the working data from memory.

2. What we do not collect

3. What we do process

DataWhyWhere it goes
Licence key To check that a Pro licence is valid when you activate it Sent to our validation endpoint, which forwards it to Creem (our payment provider). Nothing else is included in that request.
Email address To deliver your licence key and receipt Collected by Creem at checkout and used to send the delivery email. We see it only in that context.
Payment details To take payment Handled entirely by Creem. Card numbers never reach us and we cannot see them.
Support correspondence To answer you Your email to [email protected], kept in our mailbox.

4. Storage on your own device

When you activate a licence, the app saves the key and its validation status in your browser's localStorage under the name pdfsift.license.v1, so you do not have to re-enter it. This data stays on your device. Clearing site data or your browser cache removes it — your key still works, you simply paste it in again.

Draft work (the file list and settings of the current session) exists only in the open tab and is discarded when you close it.

5. Cookies

We set no cookies. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may set a strictly necessary security cookie to distinguish human visitors from automated traffic; it is not used for advertising or profiling.

6. Third parties

We do not share data with anyone else, and we do not transfer data for marketing purposes.

7. Retention

Licence validation requests are processed in transit only — we do not keep a database of validation history. Purchase records are retained by Creem as required for tax and accounting law. Support emails are kept for as long as needed to resolve the issue, then deleted.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal data about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we hold almost no personal data, most requests will concern your purchase record at Creem — write to us and we will either act or point you to the right place. Contact: [email protected]. We answer within 30 days.

9. Children

The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International transfers

We operate from China and use service providers in the United States and the European Union. If you use the service from another country, your data (in practice: a licence key and an email address) may be processed outside your country of residence.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it, and material changes will be announced on the site. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.

12. Contact

Privacy questions, data requests, or anything unclear above: [email protected].
